this was the reason why i opted to accept my present job though it’s farther from home than my last. mas malaki kase magiging net ko kahit na ang kapalit e kailangan kong isacrifice ang time ko dahil sa mas mahabang oras ng byahe. dahil lahat na nagtaasan kahit mga basic needs na lang ang hirap magbudget talaga. kaya nga kahit na gusto kong magfulltime mommy, hindi pa pwede sa ngayon. ayoko naman iasa lahat sa husband ko lalo na mga personal na needs ko din.

mas okay na din kesa mag-abroad ako. ayokong malayo sa family ko lalo na sa anak ko. i just hope and pray na sana nga hindi ko na kailangan pang umalis ng bansa para lang mapunuan yung mga pangangailangan namin. kahit husband ko, ang dami na din opportunities na pinalampas nya to work abroad. pero katulad ko, ayaw din nyang malayo samen. pareho kasi kameng nag-ofw ang mga tatay… mahirap, malungkot… sa ngayon, konting higpit pa ng sinturon at patuloy na panalangin na sana malamapasan din natin lahat itong krisis ngayon. basta wag lang tayong mawawalan ng pananampalataya.

I worry a lot about retirement. I'll be 46 this month. I can't even believe it. With the way things are going in the U.S. right now, I'm not sure there will even be Social Security. I’m also concerned about the inflation happening recently. I try to remain hopeful and positive that things will improve. Prayers are very helpful during hard times.

Re grocery, totoo yan. We don’t buy some of the things na nga like cookies, softdrinks and chips. These are not really good naman, kaya more juices and milk and sandwiches.

You know,I have been trying to get a teaching position in the US for like 4 or 5 years already but I haven’t been given a chance. Like you, I want to have some sort of retirement to fall back on when I am too old to teach. I can’t be a teacher forever.

Thanks and you know I am teary-eyed writing this. Such hard times and this natural disaster that came upon us. Kaawa-awa talaga.
