Birthday greetings

I was wondering… do you call your relatives to greet them happy birthday?

For some people, birthdays are not really a big deal. But coming from a large family like mine, I cannot imagine how that could be. In our family, birthdays are celebrated. It does not necessarily mean that there will be parties. It can be a special lunch or dinner. Or there will be a cake and an ice cream for dessert. Just the same, we celebrate it and we go out of our way to call up the person who is celebrating his or her birthday.

    Actually calling is how we wish each other happy birthday, other than I send my sister a card as she is hard to catch via phone. We want to make sure that our loved ones know we are thinking about them on the special day.

    I always try to give birthday wishes. The easiest is with short message services.

    My mom, is our only relative, here in Florida, so yes we are sure to call and give birthday wishes. Since we cant be there in person, this is very importance to us.

    Dont have a large number of relations (7 in total) so fairly easy to celebrate birthdays :-)

    I have to say that as I get older, the Birthday attention matters less… LOL!

    Not only do we call, we SING! Happy Birthday is a must in my family, as is the cake and ice cream gathering and meal of the person’s choice. My birthday is Wednesday and I’m already looking forward to all of the phone calls!
