<description>Judgment of a person suffering from depression certainly doesn&#039;t help ... BK.
It is hard to understand what is going on in somebodies mind, that they could seriously contemplate ending their life.
My father was suicidal when I was a child -
I remember him giving my mother a loaded hand gun and asking her to end his life ... not a very pretty memory!
I also remember in my twenties when I had a severe bought of depression - coming close to suicidal thoughts.
I had lost hope.
And I just wanted the pain to end.
When you lose hope, it&#039;s hard to bounce back.
I knew I was on a slippery slope though (probably due to what I had witnessed as a child) and sought out help.
I pray I never feel that darkness again.
I also pray for others, that they never feel that darkness!

<description>I do not understand the mentality behind people who committed suicide too; it certainly takes a &#039;brave&#039; soul to take a leap off a tall building. The closest I came to that was from a bungee jump. The question I will ask myself is, &quot;why would someone be brave enough to jump and not brave enough to live on?&quot; I came to a conclusion, most must have had sort of a mental broke down; they had no hope or help. Your article on the symptoms someone shown in planning a suicide can certainly help family and friends to take note and give support.
