Growing up in a house full of girls

It is hard for a boy to grow up in a household of girls. I know this from experience because I have a younger brother (our youngest) who is struggling to live with four older sisters. I can see how hard it is for him, especially he and my dad are not really close. He has no one to talk to on guy things. Good thing my sister and I love college basketball so that at least is something in common that he has with us. We also talk about pop music from time to time. But when it comes to matters of the heart or guy stuff, he has no one in the house to share it with.

In those times that I see him closing up, not willing to talk to any one of us, I miss my brother, Willyboy, who died almost a decade ago. I know that if he’s still here with us, my brother’s transition into puberty (and later on to adulthood) would have been easier for him. And he has someone to look up to.

I can only do so much. He wouldn’t confide other things with me, of course. And I can only pray that He guides him every step of the way.
