Under One Roof

Do you notice how we often ignore the exit signs we see inside buildings? Each floor has at least two exit signs indicating a fire exit. Personally, I really don’t notice these signs at all. Unless I look up and find myself standing in front of the fire exit, that is. These signs that we hardly notice because we see it everyday are very important. During an emergency, these are the signs that we should follow like a flock of sheep. EXIT SIGNS!

There is this building in another city that has a really slow elevator. I was applying at a company that has offices in two succeeding floors in that building and I am shuffling from one floor to another. Because it will take me longer time to wait for the elevator, I opted to use the fire exit the first time I had to go down the floor. I had the scare of my life when the door to the floor below won’t open. I had to go up again to get in the main floor but the door shut tight! Thank goodness an employee heard me knocking loudly I was let out.

Anyway, an exit sign is still important regardless. It was just an isolated incident that I had to tell you
