Keeping items at home or not

We give most of the items still in good condition to neighbors who want it. But some items we still keep like old mounts from old tv sets that we bought. We actually have two at the storage room and one will be given to my aunt who was about to buy one last week. Good thing she told me about it.
I don’t like storing items that no longer have the hope of being used. But then my parents were, my dad still is, keen on keeping some items with sentimental value to them. I don’t. I like having free space that I can use not for storage.
