Wandering mind

I really feel so guilty when my mind wanders inside the church while the mass is ongoing. I’ve been noticing that priests officiate mass unprepared for their homily. So during homily, my mind would start wandering while the priest’s voice drones on and on. It’s bad, I know. I just couldn’t help it most of the time!
So I found a solution to the mind wandering problem of mine. When I don’t feel like listening to the priest, I pray. I talk to God directly and just tell him everything that is in my mind. Even the silly ones. When I do this, I don’t feel guilty that I haven’t listened to the homily.
I wish priests, especially the Dominicans from Sto. Domingo Church, will start focusing on their homilies. If Christian services can be interesting because of the preaching, the Catholic Church can also produce really good homilies, too. Why not take the example of SVD’s?
