Extending a helping hand

I don’t like turning anyone down when it comes to financial assistance because I know the feeling of rejection. I’ve been there one time too many in the past that I know how it feels to swallow one’s pride to ask for a loan and then to go home empty handed.
But then I can’t extend a helping hand these days. For one, my income is not what it used to. And then there’s the school expenses of my brother that I am prioritizing. There’s also other expenses that I need to fund month after month. Assisting others financially is just not feasible right now.
I felt bad when my mom’s relative went home. I felt like I was the one rejected.
