Outspoken on family issues

OutspokenI am very outspoken when it comes to my opinions on matters that affect the family. Most of the time, I just blurt it out. I don’t think. I just say my opinions out loud. I know I offend others at times. But that’s me. I do censor my thoughts sometimes, depending on who I am with. If it’s family and close friends, it’s raw emotions all the time. If it’s people I don’t really know or mere acquaintances, I try to limit my opinions as much as I can.

How can I not feel passionate about issues affecting the family when I saw how my parents struggled to feed the six of us (my three sisters and two brothers)? We’ve struggled for so long that even now, more than a decade after, we still remember those days when finding the next source of income was a big problem for the whole family. I’ve assumed the role of a breadwinner far too early in life. I’ve no regrets shouldering the responsibility. But I don’t want it to happen to others. Kids should enjoy their youth and not waste it worrying about money and their basic needs!
