Wordpress update

You might be wondering where your comments went. When I upgraded the Wordpress I am using to the latest version, I lost some of the most recent comments I got. I’m sorry for that. The exploit was really a hassle. I just hope the latest version that will be released in a few days will address these security issues.

Still awake

I believe I need some energy pills today. I have been awake since eight in the evening last night and still doing so many things all at once. I can feel my energy level going down inch by inch. But since I have to finish everything first, well, I have to stay awake. My body is begging for some rest but in a few hours, I just might get to that. I do hope so.

I wonder why there is no Weekly Question from Teacher Julie yet. I normally get an email from her on Sunday mornings with the question of the week together with the link to her current post.

Joining memes is not really my thing. When it was still that popular, I was one of those who religiously post it. But these days, I only do when I feel like it. If you notice, this blog only joined Weekly Questions, Weekend Snapshot and Food Friday. I want the memes to be something related to family matters and home living which is what this blog is all about. There are other memes out there with the same theme I know but I am content with these 3. There are weeks when I don’t even participate, joining more memes would seem superficial.

Under One Roof: Focus on Family

Under One Roof is all about family matters and home living. Mostly about my extended family. But not everything written here is about my family. I also write about society issues concerning the family. When I write reviews, I make it a point for it to be about the family as much as possible.

That’s my purpose when I created this blog. To write about the family and issues concerning it. My family is not only composed of immediate family members (parents and 5 siblings), it also includes grandparents on both sides, my numerous uncles and aunts in my father’s side, my equally numerous cousins, the little kid at home, and a friend. If you are a Filipino like me, the family is very important for most of us. We grow up with grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins surrounding us. Reunions are integral in most parties. And that’s how it is with me.

This post was written as a reminder to me to write more about Filipino families and the issues concerning the smallest unit of society. And you can expect more posts to come up after this.

Also, this blog will be changing its Entrecard dropping habit. Since EC always encounters loading problems, I thought it better to go back to my old traffic-driving ways. Plus, I miss visiting those in my blogroll. So you can expect me to be more visible in your blogs in the coming days.

Change of themes

I changed my theme into this Simplicity Theme from Solostream. I love the Limau Orange from Blog Oh Blog and will keep it for future use. For now, I will use this Simplicity Theme simply because of its Feature Article option wherein I can keep a post I want others to see right away on top, without disturbing the order of my written posts. The Batchoy post will remain on top unless I write another entry and post it under the Featured category. Cool noh?

Of course, no matter how many times I change themes, it will always be the same header for me.

Moral support

Funny how a simple page rank could affect me and my sister. She knows about blogging, was blogging actually. So when I found out that this blog lost it’s rank yesterday, I immediately sent her a text message telling her about it. I was so sad about what happened. You all know that the holidays is fast approaching and every single avenue of income for me is important.

Anyway, she was sympathetic. I needed that. That’s one of the wonderful things about having a sibling you are close to. You can rely for some moral support when you need it.

It’s so hard, really. There are so many things that come to mind but none fits. That is why I have to rack my brain for other possibilities. Then it takes so much time to think of another one. Sigh.
