Last December 29, 2008, I had the chance to have lunch at Bacolod Inasal (actually more like dessert already since Hazel and I were late) and coffee at Starbucks with blogger friends – Tatay, Tita Liza, Cherry, Kuya Dom. Trinoma was the meeting place again. I’ve had the privilege to have lunch with them before (except Cherry whom I met the first time last 29th). It was fun as usual. We talked about life and blogging (what else!). We gossiped a bit about the blogging world hehe…

Kuya Dom and Me

Hazel, Tatay, Cherry, Tita Liza, Kuya Dom and Me
Hazel is so taken with tatay that when we got home, she kept telling my sisters about “lolo” hehehe… As usual, I felt as if we needed more time together. We don’t often see each other, especially with Kuya Dom who’s living in Indiana and studying to become a priest. Tita Liza and I often text each other but it’s just not the same. Seeing in person is still the best way to communicate. Cherry’s right! We should do this more often, tita para mas mahaba ang chikahan
Happy Monday!

You might be wondering where your comments went. When I upgraded the Wordpress I am using to the latest version, I lost some of the most recent comments I got. I’m sorry for that. The exploit was really a hassle. I just hope the latest version that will be released in a few days will address these security issues.

I believe I need some energy pills today. I have been awake since eight in the evening last night and still doing so many things all at once. I can feel my energy level going down inch by inch. But since I have to finish everything first, well, I have to stay awake. My body is begging for some rest but in a few hours, I just might get to that. I do hope so.

I wonder why there is no Weekly Question from Teacher Julie yet. I normally get an email from her on Sunday mornings with the question of the week together with the link to her current post.
Joining memes is not really my thing. When it was still that popular, I was one of those who religiously post it. But these days, I only do when I feel like it. If you notice, this blog only joined Weekly Questions, Weekend Snapshot and Food Friday. I want the memes to be something related to family matters and home living which is what this blog is all about. There are other memes out there with the same theme I know but I am content with these 3. There are weeks when I don’t even participate, joining more memes would seem superficial.
Do you join memes a lot? What are those?

I did a variation of this meme in the past but for tacK I will do this again
1. I have a chronic illness: katamaran! Hahaha… Maybe, it’s the weather. It is cooler now than in the past few weeks. Or maybe my body is asking for payback for the year that I abused it last year (sleeping for 3-4 hours daily and working in front of the computer the rest of the day). Or maybe, I am just lazy hehe
2. I am addicted to the Twilight series! I love Edward Cullen so much! Yay!!! *love

3. I am a very open minded person.
4. If I have more than enough money to spend, I would rather spend it on books, food and travel than on anything else. Di kasi ako kikay *no
5. I can’t sleep properly if I haven’t read. No matter how tired I am, I would have to read even a chapter of a book so my mind can relax. Weird ‘no?
6. I love songs of Enya. My sisters hate it! They think that her songs are too creepy.
7. I am a forgetful person. My friends and family tease me about it. I haven’t been operated on so I don’t know why I am like this. Maybe early signs of aging? *sick

Under One Roof is all about family matters and home living. Mostly about my extended family. But not everything written here is about my family. I also write about society issues concerning the family. When I write reviews, I make it a point for it to be about the family as much as possible.
That’s my purpose when I created this blog. To write about the family and issues concerning it. My family is not only composed of immediate family members (parents and 5 siblings), it also includes grandparents on both sides, my numerous uncles and aunts in my father’s side, my equally numerous cousins, the little kid at home, and a friend. If you are a Filipino like me, the family is very important for most of us. We grow up with grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins surrounding us. Reunions are integral in most parties. And that’s how it is with me.
This post was written as a reminder to me to write more about Filipino families and the issues concerning the smallest unit of society. And you can expect more posts to come up after this.
If you don’t want to miss any of it, you can subscribe to this blog below…
